FBCCI showed interests to tie up with France for trade and skill development

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) expressed its eagerness to enhance bilateral trade relations with France and sought support from France in skill development and technology advancement. FBCCI aims to establish a Joint Business Council in collaboration with its French counterpart, MEDEF. FBCCI Senior Vice President Md Amin Helaly conveyed these intentions during a meeting with a delegation from the Embassy of France in Dhaka on April 28, 2024. The delegation, led by Julien Deur, Head of Economic Department of the Embassy of France, discussed the potential for increased trade cooperation and mutual benefit.

Helaly highlighted the long-standing friendship between Bangladesh and France and emphasized the rising trend of exports to France, particularly in ready-made garments, knitwear, leather, and leather goods. He also showcased Bangladesh’s ongoing development projects and invited French investors to explore opportunities in the Bangladeshi market. Deur praised Bangladesh’s economic progress and emphasized the importance of Business to Business (B2B) meetings for fostering bilateral trade relations. The meeting was attended by FBCCI Secretary General Md Alamgir, former FBCCI Director Tabarakul Tosaddek Hossain Khan (Tito), and Economic Attaché of the Embassy of France in Dhaka Yann Riegel, among others.
