BGMEA President S M Mannan (Kochi) urged a visiting delegation from the National Defence College (NDC) to promote the success stories of Bangladesh’s garment industry globally. The delegation, led by Major General SM Kamrul Hassan and comprising senior officers from Bangladesh and various other countries, visited the BGMEA Complex in Dhaka.
During the visit, BGMEA leaders, including Senior Vice President Khandoker Rafiqul Islam and others, highlighted the garment industry’s contributions to socio-economic development, poverty alleviation, and women empowerment. They discussed the industry’s vision, sustainable development efforts, and key priorities such as product diversification, technological advancement, and skill development.
The NDC delegation praised the industry’s progress, particularly its eco-friendly initiatives. Major General Hassan expressed optimism about achieving the goal of $100 billion in garment exports by 2030. Prior to the BGMEA Complex visit, the delegation toured 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd in Savar.
