South Korea keens to invest in Jute and Leather sectors in Bangladesh
South Korean Ambassador Park Young-sik expressed South Korea’s interest in investing in Bangladesh’s jute and leather sectors during a meeting with Textile Minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak. He commended Bangladesh’s progress in various sectors and discussed ongoing development projects in textiles and jute.
The ambassador also conveyed greetings to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her government’s reelection. He mentioned efforts to encourage Korean investment in Bangladesh across different sectors and sought the minister’s cooperation to address tariff issues and extend visa validity for Korean workers. Minister Nanak assured him of efforts to resolve these issues through discussions with relevant ministries and departments.
