Foundation stone of two new Joint Investment Establishments was laid yesterday at Abdul Monem Economic Zone in Ghazaria, Munshiganj. The foundation stone of a facility was laid by Ms. Carola Theresia Paschola, the entrepreneur of one of the largest private plastic processing companies in Germany. Begum Meherunnessa, chairman of Abdul Monem Limited, one of the industrial groups of the country, laid the foundation stone of another establishment.
Abdul Monem Limited’s Managing Director ASM Moinuddin Monem, Director Zainab Monem and various senior officials were also present at the foundation stone ceremony.
A private plastic processing company from Germany has been expressing interest in setting up a plastic processing plant in Bangladesh for a long time. In continuation of this, the joint venture of Abdul Monem Limited yesterday laid the foundation stone of the plant under construction in Abdul Monem Economic Zone.
The country’s first private economic zone started operations in 2015. In the meantime, the famous Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Honda Limited has started production there. In addition, Huntsman Company Limited of America is going to complete the first phase and start the second phase. Those concerned said that their production activities will start soon.
