BGMEA's initiative to identify suspicious foreign garment buyers

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) aims to achieve a $100 billion export target in the garment sector by 2030, according to its President, S M Mannan (Kochi). To sustain growth beyond 2026, when Bangladesh will graduate from the LDC status, BGMEA seeks continued government support, including alternative cash incentives.

Mr. Mannan emphasized the government’s efforts under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s leadership to ensure economic stability and eradicate poverty, echoing the vision of the nation’s founder, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. BGMEA is committed to improving citizens’ lives and upholding freedom, working towards Bangabandhu’s vision of a prosperous ‘Sonar Bangla’ or ‘Smart Bangladesh’ by 2041.
