Bihar encourages Bangladeshi investment in its textile and apparel sector

The Indian state of Bihar is actively seeking Bangladeshi investment in the textile and garment sector, aiming to leverage the significant trade potential between the two neighboring countries. Sandeep Poundrik, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department of the Bihar state government in India, conveyed this message during a meeting with Mr. Faruque Hassan, the President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), held at the BGMEA office in Dhaka.

During the meeting, the Indian delegation, led by Mr. Poundrik, emphasized the investment opportunities available in Bihar and encouraged potential investors to explore these prospects in the region, as indicated in a statement from BGMEA.

Mr. Hassan stressed the importance of enhancing business collaboration between the two nations, expressing optimism regarding the potential for expanding trade and investment ties, particularly within the textile and apparel industry, a crucial sector for both countries.”
