India set its textile growth roadmap for 350 billion USD by 2030

India has outlined a roadmap to grow its textile market to $350 billion by 2030 and generate 4.5-6 crore jobs, according to Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh. Key initiatives include attracting investments to create jobs, particularly through the development of seven mega textile parks with Rs 70,000 crore in investments, expected to generate 21 lakh jobs.

The plan also focuses on expanding silk production, benefiting one crore people, and growing technical textiles with an export target of $10 billion by 2030. The ministry is boosting the handloom and handicraft sector, connecting one crore artisans. India’s textile sector reforms cover infrastructure, R&D, startups, and natural fibers like jute and silk.

Additionally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation for a 1,000-acre textile park in Maharashtra, aimed at making India a global hub for textile manufacturing.
