233 LEED-Certified garment factories are in Bangladesh

The number of Bangladeshi garment factories certified by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) has risen to 233. A new factory located in Bawpara, Kaultiya, in Gazipur district, “Consist Apparels” scored 84 out of 100 to secure its platinum rating, reflecting its commitment to environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.
Sustainability Leadership
Among the 233 LEED-certified garment factories in Bangladesh, 93 have achieved platinum certification, while 126 are gold-rated, according to the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association.
LEED certification, developed by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), is a globally recognized benchmark for sustainable building design, construction, and operation.

Bangladesh continues to strengthen its reputation as a leader in green garment manufacturing, with its LEED-certified factories playing a crucial role in promoting sustainability in the global apparel industry.
