SPINNOVA signed LoI with PUMA

Woodspin Oy, the producer of sustainable wood-based SPINNOVA® fibre, has signed a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) with global sports brand PUMA SE to secure fibre volumes for several years. Woodspin, a joint venture between Spinnova and Suzano, aims to collaborate with PUMA to develop future collections using SPINNOVA® fibre, particularly in the Sportstyle category.

The partnership is seen as a significant step toward scaling the market and industrial adoption of SPINNOVA® fibre, which is produced using innovative, sustainable technology that replaces chemicals with water. Shahriare Mahmood, Spinnova’s Chief Product and Sustainability Officer, highlighted the importance of this collaboration for expanding SPINNOVA® fibre’s presence in the fashion industry.

Jari Aittakari, Woodspin’s Sales Director, emphasized the potential of renewable raw materials to transform fashion by enabling sustainable choices. PUMA’s Howard Williams praised SPINNOVA® for offering a groundbreaking approach to manmade cellulosic fibre production, aligning with sustainability goals.
