Amazon seeks central bonded warehouse facility in Bangladesh
BTJ Desk Report
Amazon is seeking a central bonded warehouse facility in Bangladesh to benefit from tax reductions, aiming to enhance its retail operations for both domestic and international markets. State Minister for Commerce Ahasanul Islam Titu explained that Amazon plans to increase its business through the procurement of goods for its global supply chain but would face taxes and duties without this facility.
The request was discussed during a press conference following a meeting with a visiting delegation from the US-Bangladesh Business Council, which included representatives from major companies like Meta, Chevron, Coke, and Boeing.
