BGMEA announced the starting of Eid holiday from 21st April for the garment workers
Based on the appearance of the Moon, Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated either on 22nd or on 23rd of April and Eid holiday will start from 21st April which is a Friday for the garment factories in Bangladesh, according to BGMEA, the association of garment manufacturers of Bangladesh.
BGMEA had informed this information through a letter given to the member factories on Monday last. However, the letter did not mention how long will the factories be closed for the holidays.
In the letter of BGMEA to the factory owners, it is said that, in order to reduce the pressure of additional workers on the same day during the Eid holiday, various departments of the government have requested for the leave of the workers step by step. The respective factories coordinate with their own shipments, work orders and production, if there is an opportunity, they can give the workers a holiday two to three days before Eid.
