BIDA and FICCI will work jointly to attract foreign investors
Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) and the Foreign Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) have agreed to collaborate to attract more foreign investment. This partnership was discussed during a meeting held at BIDA’s conference room, attended by key officials, including Lutfe Siddiqui, the special envoy on international affairs, and FICCI President Javed Akhtar.
Javed Akhtar emphasized that numerous potential investors are interested in Bangladesh but face significant obstacles. He called for joint efforts to identify and resolve these challenges to encourage economic growth and increase foreign direct investment (FDI). He also outlined FICCI’s activities, key barriers to investment, and the need for structural reforms to enhance the investment landscape.
Lutfe Siddiqui assured investors that the government is committed to improving the business environment. BIDA’s executive chairman, Ashik Chowdhury, participating virtually from Singapore, highlighted the importance of continuous efforts to enhance the investment climate.
Both BIDA and FICCI leaders pledged to work together to implement necessary reforms and unlock Bangladesh’s potential as a top destination for international investors. The partnership aims to address current issues and create a more favorable business environment for foreign investments.
