Jute and Textile advisor seek cooperation to use jute bag nationwide
Textiles and Jute Affairs Adviser Brigadier General (retired) M Sakhawat Hossain has called for cooperation to promote the use of jute bags nationwide, aligning with the Jute Packaging Act, 2010. Speaking at a meeting organized by the Bangladesh Jute Mills Association (BJMA), Hossain emphasized the need for public support to expand eco-friendly jute products.
Environmental Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan highlighted the environmental importance of the jute sector and urged for immediate measures to address the challenges facing the jute industry. She stressed the need for public-private partnerships to revitalize this potential sector. BJMA officials and other key stakeholders attended the meeting, underscoring the urgency of supporting the jute industry for both environmental protection and economic growth.
