As the bilateral trade between Bangladesh and China continues to rise, Switzerland-based Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) is all set to launch container lines on the China-Bangladesh route from 27 April, to facilitate direct shipping between the two countries.Media reports maintained this while adding initially four ships will move under an MSC service named “Bengal Express” even if subsequently two more ships will be added to the fleet, which is expected to bring down the shipping time to 12 days from the earlier 25.

Meanwhile, speaking to the media, MSC operation and logistics head for Bangladesh, Mr. Ajmir Hossain Chowdhury, reportedly, said the shipping lines will come to Bangladesh after loading goods from different Chinese ports and two ports in Singapore and Malaysia, but will unload goods only at the Chittagong Port.
