Reju partnered with NFT to build circular ecosystem for textile recycling
Reju™, a textile-to-textile regeneration company, has partnered with France-based Nouvelles Fibres Textiles (NFT) to create a circular ecosystem for textile recycling in France. NFT will supply Reju with secondary raw materials from post-consumer and post-industrial textile waste for the production of Reju Polyester™, a regenerated polyester with a carbon footprint 50% lower than virgin polyester.
The collaboration focuses on expanding infrastructure for textile waste collection and processing while ensuring 100% traceability of recycled materials. Reju’s first demonstration facility, Regeneration Hub Zero in Frankfurt, Germany, is operational and will scale up polyester regeneration by 2025, with plans for additional hubs across Europe.
NFT, leveraging its advanced semi-industrial recycling site and innovative sorting and processing technologies, transforms diverse textile waste into high-quality raw materials. These materials will support Reju’s recycling processes and other industries, promoting sustainability and reducing landfill dependency.
The partnership aligns with the EU’s mandatory textile waste collection law taking effect in 2025. Leaders from both companies emphasized their shared commitment to building a low-carbon, local, and collaborative circular industry to address textile waste challenges and reshape resource utilization.
