RMG exporters receiving positive vibes from foreign buyers

Bangladesh’s RMG exporters are optimistic about a strong recovery as international orders for the upcoming 2025 spring and summer seasons are steadily increasing. The global image of Interim Government Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus is also helping to restore buyer confidence after recent political turmoil and protests that led to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation. Although the industry faced disruptions, including factory closures and internet blackouts, top buyers from the US, UK, and EU are now showing positive responses.

Despite some challenges, including a liquidity crisis and the need to stabilize law and order, RMG manufacturers believe the sector will see significant growth starting from early next year. The industry is currently operating at full capacity, and efforts are underway to address the backlog caused by the protests. The involvement of Yunus, a globally recognized figure, is seen as a key factor in regaining trust from major international buyers.
