RMG exports to EU increased a little

Garment exports from Bangladesh to the European Union (EU) increased by 3.66% year-on-year to $19.90 billion during the July-April period of the current fiscal year. Denmark saw the highest growth among EU countries at 32%, followed by Poland 20.65%, the Netherlands 17.51%, Spain 6.07%, and France 3.42%. Conversely, exports to Italy fell by 2.45%, and to Germany, the largest EU market, by 9.40%, totaling $5.01 billion.

Exports to the US dropped by 1.90% to $6.81 billion. However, exports to the UK and Canada grew by 14.55% and 2.95% respectively, reaching $4.8 billion and $1.26 million.

Exports to non-traditional markets rose by 10% to $7.70 billion, with significant increases in Japan 6.14%, Australia 17.18%, and South Korea 14.73%. Conversely, exports to India declined by 22.44% since August 2023.
