Shasha Denims sees decline in profit
Shasha Denims Limited posted a decline of profit of 94.5% year-on-year to Tk 42.31 lakh in the third quarter of the ongoing financial year, media reported citing Dhaka Stock Exchange disclosure.
The profit stood at Tk7.76 crore in the identical January-March quarter of 2021-22.
According to the report, the consolidated earnings per share of the company fell to Tk0.03 in January-March of 2022-23 from Tk0.55 in the same three-month period a year earlier.
The earnings per share decreased due to an increase in financial expenses and income taxes, said the apparel manufacturer.
Shasha Denims’ profit fell 6.2% to Tk19.18 crore in July- March of FY23 as the company made Tk20.45 crore profit in the same period in FY22.
The apparel maker reported consolidated earnings per share of Tk1.36 in the nine-month period of FY23 against Tk1.45 in the same period a year ago.
In the first three quarters of the current financial year, the company’s consolidated net operating cash flow per share surged to Tk12.21 from Tk4.57.
The consolidated net asset value per share stood at Tk40.53 on March 31 this year and Tk40.23 on June 30 last year.
Shares of Shasha Denims closed unchanged at Tk 27 on the DSE on Wednesday.
