USAID will give 202 million USD for development of Bangladesh
United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will provide $202.25 million in aid to Bangladesh under the Development Objective Grant Agreement (DOAG). The agreement, originally signed in September 2021, covers the period from 2021 to 2026, with a total commitment of $954 million. So far, USAID has provided $425 million through previous amendments, and this 6th amendment adds the new amount. The aid will focus on three main areas: good governance, social and economic opportunity, and resilience.
USAID has been a key development partner of Bangladesh since 1972, contributing over $8 billion in various sectors, including democracy, food security, health, education, and climate change. The amendment was signed by AKM Shahabuddin, additional secretary of the Economic Relations Division, and Reed J Aeschliman, USAID mission director.
