Twelve industrial institutions from various categories have been selected to receive the ‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Award 2022’ under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry. The award ceremony will take place on Tuesday, with a morning program scheduled at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka. The President will serve as the chief guest, Mr. Sahabuddin will present golden crests, cash prizes, and certificates to the recipients.
The selected industries span across diverse categories, with three in the large industry category, two in the medium industry category, three in the small industry category, one in the micro industry category, one in the cottage industry category, and two in the hi-tech industry category. Notably, no organization has been nominated in the handicrafts category this year.
In the large industry category, Runner Automobiles Ltd. claimed the top spot, followed by Zaber & Zubair Fabrics Ltd. and BSRM Steels Ltd. In the medium industry category, Nita Company Ltd. secured the first position, with Noman Teri Towel Mills Ltd. and Hazrat Amanat Shah Spinning Mills Ltd. following closely behind Basumati Distribution Ltd. clinched the first position in the small-scale industry category, while Techno Media Ltd. secured the third place.
The micro industry category saw Green Genesis Engineering Ltd. as the sole recipient, and Samsunnahar Textile Mills emerged as the sole awardee in the cottage industry category. Walton Hi-Tech Industries Ltd. claimed the top spot in the hi-tech industry category, with Super Star Electrical Accessories Ltd. securing the second position.
The awards will include a first prize of 3 lakhs and 25 grams of gold-studded crests for each recipient, a second prize of 2 lakhs of taka and 20 grams of gold-studded crests, and a third prize of 1 lakh taka and 15 grams of gold-studded crests. These gold crests are crafted from 18-carat quality gold. Additionally, all awardees will receive certificates.
