The UAE is doing quite well in this regard. In 2022, the United Arab Emirates ranked first among countries in the Middle East and North Africa region in terms of food security. However, food security remains a challenge in uncertain times. We will deal with those obstacles by identifying them.

He highlighted the seven main pillars for the development of the food and agriculture sector. They include pushing for internal creativity, building a culture of putting the UAE first, establishing a supply chain that adapts to today’s world, and providing the necessary support and capital to farmers. Only through this will the UAE be able to lead the world in agricultural technology and sustainable development.

The UAE wants to diversify its economy. In particular, it wants to reduce the dependence on fuel oil and increase the contribution of other sectors in the economy. According to the National Food Security Strategy 2051, the country has set a target of coming first in the Global Food Security Index. In 2022, the country’s trade in food products was $3,540 million, which is 24’% higher than in 2021. The new initiative will support farmers, local manufacturers, technology manufacturers and equipment suppliers in the country.
