Bangladesh and Brazil have inked an agreement to exchange expertise for mutual progress
Bangladesh and Brazil have signed an agreement to collaborate on technical cooperation and economic development. The Brazilian foreign minister’s visit marks the first by a Brazilian foreign minister since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1972. During the visit, discussions covered various topics, including Bangladesh’s request for duty-free market access for ready-made clothes and Brazil’s support for addressing the Rohingya crisis.
Brazil also extended an invitation to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to visit their country. Both nations agreed to enhance cooperation in agriculture, science, technology, education, and other areas. Additionally, they expressed interest in concluding a trade agreement and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on sports cooperation. Brazil appreciated Bangladesh’s scholarship offers and invited participation in various initiatives, including G20 working groups. The visit included cultural events and meetings with government officials and business leaders, reflecting the strong bilateral ties between the two countries.
