BGMEA discussed at sourcing at magic on how to increase export to USA

Pinar van der Vegt, leading Sales, and Mike Hennessy, the Business Development Manager for Sourcing at Magic, convened with Faruque Hassan, the President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), to explore potential collaboration aimed at seizing market opportunities in the United States.

Their meeting, which took place at the BGMEA Complex in Dhaka on Saturday 2nd March, delved into critical issues concerning Bangladesh’s garment industry, particularly the expansion of garment exports to the US market. Both parties discussed the involvement of Bangladeshi exporters in the forthcoming apparel exhibition hosted by Sourcing at Magic in Las Vegas in August 2024.

During the meeting, they briefed BGMEA President Faruque Hassan about the exhibition’s highlights and devised strategic approaches to highlight Bangladesh’s ready-made garment sector’s capabilities to potential US buyers, particularly those not currently sourcing from Bangladesh. He emphasized the importance of promoting Bangladesh as a secure and sustainable sourcing destination for US buyers.

They mutually agreed to collaborate in facilitating BGMEA member factories’ participation in the exhibition, aiming to foster robust business relationships with potential buyers in the US market.
