China has proposed collaboration with the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) to establish a bonded warehouse in Bangladesh for storing raw materials and essential chemicals. In return, BKMEA leaders have expressed interest in exchanging technical expertise and knowledge with China.
This discussion occurred during a bilateral meeting between BKMEA and a Chinese delegation led by the Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh (CEAB). The meeting, held at the BKMEA head office and chaired by BKMEA vice-president Fazle Shamim Ehsan, included representatives from various Chinese institutions and organizations, such as the China Textile Engineering Society, China National Garments Association, and Donghua University, among others.
