EGCB wish to complete another plant of 100 MW solar power

The Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh Limited (EGCB) is poised to establish an additional 100MW solar power facility in Sonagazi upazila of Feni. To realize this project, EGCB is preparing to forge a joint venture partnership with the Japanese firm Marubini.

Sources within the power division have indicated that an agreement to formalize this joint venture between Marubini and EGCB will be signed in the near future.

EGCB is already in the advanced stages of constructing a solar power plant in Sonagazi, Feni. Initially designed for a 50MW capacity, it has now been upgraded to generate 100MW of electricity. Commercial production at this facility is anticipated to commence in October or November, as reported by EGCB sources.

In addition to this, EGCB has secured the necessary land for the upcoming 100MW plant in Sonagazi, Feni, and is currently engaged in discussions with the Power Development Board (PDB) to establish the framework for electricity pricing.
