In Chittagong, most factories outside the Karnaphuli and EPZ areas resumed production, with the Korean EPZ also reopening. However, factories in Gazipur and Valuka faced obstacles despite preparations to restart. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina assured business representatives of support during a meeting on Monday. Following this, a group of business leaders met with the Home Minister to discuss reopening factories in Chittagong positively, while advising to monitor the situation in Gazipur, Narayanganj, and Dhaka before reopening there.

The student quota reform movement turned violent last week, causing a halt in imports and exports from Thursday night and leading to the curfew from Friday night. Many factories in Chittagong, including those in the Korean EPZ and steel factories in Sitakunda, have resumed production with local administration support. From today morning, factories in Dhaka and adjacent districts are reopening.
