Grameen Uniqlo, a retail brand initiated by Japanese firm First Retailing Co. Ltd. had closed all their outlets in Bangladesh, a few days ahead of the scheduled deadline of 18th June.
To be mentioned that First Retailing Co. Ltd. established Uniqlo social business Bangladesh Ltd. in 2010 in partnership with Grameen bank group’s Grameen healthcare trust even as the new venture ‘Grameen Uniqlo’ was launced in 2011, responding to social issues like education and poverty.
In a message in their website, regrets to inform of the permanent closure of the brand in Bangladesh but there were happy to see the overwhelming support they received for the clearance sale campaign.
