NBR can now fix all its errors and issues: EX-NBR Chairman
Former NBR chairman Muhammad Abdul Majid views the current interim government period as a crucial opportunity for the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to correct past collection errors and boost revenue. He emphasized that this period could allow the NBR to act freely, adhering to rules and regulations, potentially leading to a significant increase in revenue collection.
Drawing from his experience during the 2007-08 caretaker government, Majid noted that NBR exceeded its revenue target by Tk 100 billion due to operational freedom. He believes that if the NBR unites and works diligently, it can achieve similar success during this interim period. Majid dismissed concerns that recent political turmoil would negatively impact revenue collection, stating that any effects would be reflected in future fiscal periods, not the current one
