New Gas layer found in KailashTila

The new gas source was found following work-over on Kailashtila-7 well by the state-run oil and gas Exploration Company, Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production company ltd (BAPEX) recently. Kailashtila gas field started supplying 19 million cubic feet of gas per day (mmcfd). With the new supply, Kailashtila gas field’s output has increased to around 48 mmcfd from previous 29 mmcfd, said a senior official of State-owned Sylhet Gas Fileds Ltd. (SGFL). Kailashtila gas field was discovered in 1962 and started producing in 1983.
