Spain has overtaken Germany as Bangladesh’s largest readymade garment (RMG) export market in the European Union, with shipments rising 13.73% year-on-year to $1.148 billion in July–September of FY2026–27, according to Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).
Exports to Germany, previously the leading EU market, slipped 0.15% to $1.123 billion during the quarter. Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s total RMG exports to the EU increased 3.33% year-on-year to $4.904 billion.
Among other major markets, exports to the Netherlands rose 9.02% and Poland increased 5.77%, while shipments to France declined 4.91%. The figures highlight Spain’s growing importance in Bangladesh’s European apparel trade.
