The LYCRA Company Showcases Bio-Derived LYCRA® EcoMade Fiber at ISPO 2024

The LYCRA Company, a leader in sustainable fiber innovation, is highlighting its groundbreaking bio-derived LYCRA® EcoMade fiber at ISPO 2024 in first week of December.

Set to launch commercially in 2025, bio-derived LYCRA® EcoMade fiber is the first large-scale renewable elastane, containing 70% renewable content certified under the USDA Bio-Preferred Program. With performance equivalent to the original LYCRA® fiber, it requires no adjustments to existing fabrics, processes, or garment designs.

The fiber won two prestigious ISPO Textrends Awards for Fall/Winter 2026/27: a “Top 5 Award” in the fibers and insulation category and a “Selection” for garments. Brazilian brand LIVE! Incorporated the fiber into its UpFit Capsule Collection, featuring award-winning leggings, tops, and jumpsuits that combine exceptional fit and sustainability. “This innovation reflects our commitment to transformative change without compromising performance,” said Steve Stewart, The LYCRA Company’s Chief Brand and Innovation Officer. “We’re thrilled by the industry’s recognition and LIVE!’s innovative collaboration.”
