BSEC to form a new board for start-ups

The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), the regulator of the capital market of Bangladesh – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – is considering forming a new board for the start-up companies of the country.

According to media reports, the BSEC Chairman Shibli Rubaiyat Ul Islam was recently addressing a press conference, he said that some start-up companies cannot adapt to mainstream or SME markets.

The BSEC Chairman further said that start-up companies are mostly formed by the new generation who do not always have the resources and added the commission will support such companies.

He also mentioned that the start-up companies wishing to enter the capital market must issue at least 10% of their shares, media reported.
