BUTEX students working on a project for on textile work safety
BTJ Desk Report

A team from Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) has developed the Automatic Machine Stopper System to enhance safety in the textile industry. This system automatically shuts down machinery when personnel approach dangerous areas or anomalies are detected. Integrated into traditional machines, it employs sensors and machine learning for rapid shutdown upon human contact, aiming to prevent accidents and ensure worker safety.
This initiative, part of the university’s Product Design Lab course, seeks to enhance worker safety and minimize workplace injuries caused by conventional machinery lacking adequate safety measures.
