China is keen to import jute goods from Bangladesh

China expressed strong interest in importing jute goods from Bangladesh, as evidenced by a meeting between Ambassador Yao Wen and Textiles and Jute Minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak at the latter’s secretariat office.

Following the meeting, Minister Nanak briefed reporters, noting the Chinese envoy’s commendation of the Bangladeshi government’s advancements across various sectors. Discussions encompassed a range of topics, including opportunities for Chinese students to pursue education in Bangladesh and the progress of textile and jute sector development projects.

Ambassador Yao conveyed greetings to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her fourth consecutive term in office. Responding to inquiries, Minister Nanak, also an Awami League Presidium Member, emphasized China’s status as a crucial development partner for Bangladesh. He underscored China’s significant role in Bangladesh’s progress and expressed optimism for continued cooperation, envisioning a “Smart Bangladesh” under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s leadership.
