Dongfang Knitting (BD) Ltd, a Chinese enterprise, is set to invest $27.8 million in establishing a sock manufacturing factory within the Bepza Economic Zone in Mirsarai, Chattogram.
The factory aims to produce 216 million pairs of socks annually for men, women, and children, thereby generating employment opportunities for 5,192 Bangladeshi workers.
Ali Reza Mazid, Bepza’s Member for Investment Promotion, and Fang Zhendong, Managing Director of Dongfang Knitting (BD), formalized the agreement at the Bepza Complex in Dhaka.
