Investment coming to Bangladesh from Ireland

Following a meeting with Mr. Simon Coveney, Ireland’s Minister for Enterprise, Trade, and Employment, at the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) building in Agargaon, an announcement was issued via press release.
Rahman conveyed that a memorandum of understanding would soon be signed at the foreign minister-level of both nations, expressing optimism for heightened trade and investment between Ireland and Bangladesh. Emphasizing the benefits of collaboration, Rahman indicated plans to send representatives from Bida and the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority to learn from Ireland’s investment promotion strategies.
Additionally, Rahman highlighted Ireland’s interest in Bangladesh’s tourism sector, noting their willingness to cooperate as Bangladesh develops its infrastructure. He also acknowledged the positive gesture of the Irish embassy opening in Bangladesh as a step towards strengthening bilateral relations.
Furthermore, both countries are actively working to bolster bilateral trade, particularly focusing on sectors such as medicine, IT, and tourism.
