Chinese envoy reviews security of investments during Uttara EPZ visit

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen has visited the Uttara Export Processing Zone (EPZ) to review safety and security issues concerning Chinese enterprises operating in the area.

During the visit on January 18, the ambassador held meetings with the executive director of the Uttara EPZ Board and the officer-in-charge of Nilphamari Police, according to the Chinese Embassy. Discussions centered on strengthening security arrangements and ensuring a safe, stable and business-friendly environment for Chinese-invested companies.

Both sides exchanged views on practical steps to enhance coordination between EPZ authorities and local law enforcement agencies to better safeguard investments and maintain industrial stability.

Ambassador Yao underscored the importance China places on the protection of its enterprises and personnel overseas, while expressing appreciation for the cooperation and support extended by Bangladeshi authorities. Local officials reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all foreign investors in the Uttara EPZ through continued collaboration and proactive measures.
