Sheltech group announces Tk15 billion expansion across agro, textiles and green Energy

Sheltech Group has unveiled an investment plan worth Tk15.04 billion to expand its operations across agro-processing, real estate, textiles, manufacturing, and renewable energy, with the goal of creating nearly 45,000 jobs and increasing annual turnover to Tk100 billion by 2030.

The largest investment, valued at Tk4 billion, has been made in Spain Bangladesh Agro Industry Ltd, a joint venture with Spain that has already commenced production and exports of processed sweet corn to the European Union. The project is expected to engage around 40,000 farmers through contract farming while generating significant export earnings.

n the textile sector, Envoy Textiles Ltd. will invest Tk1.79 billion to expand its blended yarn spinning capacity by 25 tonnes per day, with the project scheduled for completion by February 2027.

The group will also invest Tk5.75 billion to develop a LEED-certified commercial complex in Dhaka’s Banasree area and continue expanding its residential developments in Jolshiri Abashon. In addition, Sheltech plans to install 10 MW of solar power capacity across its operations to reduce carbon emissions and strengthen energy sustainability.

According to the company, the investment programme is expected to enhance industrial capacity, boost exports, promote sustainable development, and support Bangladesh’s long-term economic growth
