Hong Kong based firm to invest $15.34m in BEPZA economic zone

A Hong Kong based company, Flourish Garments Bangladesh Co Ltd, will invest $15.34 million to establish a high-end garment manufacturing facility at the BEPZA Economic Zone.
The investment agreement was signed at the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) complex in Dhaka between BEPZA Executive Director (Investment Promotion) Md Tanvir Hossain and Managing Director of the company Han Junxiao.
The new factory will produce around four million garments annually, including fleece jackets, soft-shell jackets, down jackets, cotton coats, leather jackets, T-shirts, polo shirts, shorts and parkas. The product range will also include ski suits, windproof jackets, yoga suits, running suits, jeans, golf wear and other casual apparel items.
According to BEPZA, the project is expected to create 1,988 job opportunities for Bangladeshi workers, contributing to employment generation and export growth.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, BEPZA Executive Chairman Mohammad Moazzem Hossain assured the investor of full support to ensure smooth operations in the economic zone. He noted that BEPZA continues to expand its industrial facilities to attract foreign investment and strengthen Bangladesh’s export-oriented manufacturing sector.
Senior BEPZA officials and representatives of the investing company were also present at the event.
