Bangladesh and EU hold talks on a Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation Agreement

Bangladesh and the European Union began a two-day introductory meeting in Dhaka to prepare for negotiations on a “Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation Agreement,” aiming to strengthen their bilateral relationship. The Bangladesh delegation, led by Dr. Md Nazrul Islam, and the EU delegation, led by chief negotiator Paola Pampaloni, discussed key areas in three clustered sessions.
Topics included institutional frameworks, international peace and security, governance and human rights, justice, and trade cooperation. Further discussions are scheduled to cover additional themes on Wednesday, with officials from Brussels joining virtually to support the talks.
