BGMEA met delegation from AAFA and FLA

A high-level delegation from the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) and the Fair Labor Association (FLA) visited Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association to discuss workers’ rights and strengthen US-Bangladesh collaboration in the readymade garment sector.

Led by BGMEA Administrator Anwar Hossain, the meeting focused on fostering a sustainable and ethical RMG industry while enhancing trade relations. Key topics included workplace safety, labor law reforms, workers’ rights, and increasing trade access for Bangladeshi apparel in the US market. Discussions also emphasized promoting responsible purchasing practices, sustainability progress, and potential collaborations in workers’ training programs.

BGMEA urged AAFA and FLA to advocate for Bangladesh’s trade interests and recognized their support in advancing workers’ welfare and labor reforms. The delegation commended Bangladesh’s initiatives and progress in the RMG sector.
