Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) has welcomed the government’s decision to increase alternative cash assistance for export-oriented domestic textile products from 1.5% to 5%, alongside existing customs bond and duty drawback facilities.

In a statement, BTMA said the policy reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening the country’s textile industry and follows the association’s continued advocacy for greater support to the sector. The association noted that the enhanced incentive is expected to promote the use of locally produced yarn and fabrics, strengthen the backward linkage industry, increase domestic value addition, and improve Bangladesh’s global export competitiveness.

BTMA believes the revised incentive will encourage new investment, create employment opportunities, and support the sustainable growth of the textile and apparel industry. The association also expressed its appreciation to the government and all concerned authorities for their continued support in advancing Bangladesh’s textile sector.
