Chinese firm to invest $19.72 million in high-end apparel factory at BEPZA economic zone

Chinese company October 4128 (BD) Ltd will invest $19.72 million to set up a high-end garment manufacturing factory at the BEPZA Economic Zone (BEPZA EZ) in Mirsharai, Chattogram.
An agreement was signed in Dhaka between Md Ashraful Kabir, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Mohammed Taufikul Ahsan, Managing Director of October 4128 (BD) Ltd, in the presence of Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain, Executive Chairman of BEPZA.
The factory will produce 3 million pieces annually of premium outdoor and performance apparel, including ski, snow sports, hunting and motor rider gear, insulated winter coats, down jackets and pants, rain gear, workwear, running wear, yoga wear, and water sportswear. The project will generate employment for 2,788 Bangladeshi workers.
With this investment, 49 companies have now signed agreements to operate in the BEPZA Economic Zone, bringing total proposed investment to around US$ 1.08 billion. Six companies are already in production, reinforcing BEPZA EZ’s status as a prime destination for both local and foreign investors in Bangladesh’s export-oriented manufacturing sector.
