High Hope Zhongtian Corporation, a key affiliate of Jiangsu SOHO Holdings Group, plans to open an office in Dhaka to explore investment opportunities in Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector. Chairman Bao Zhenxing visited Dhaka to consider partnering with a local factory or starting their own, attracted by the country’s development and GDP growth.
The company, which exports to markets including the US, Europe, Japan, Southeast Asia, South America, and Australia, aims to share technical knowledge with Bangladeshi businesses to enhance local manufacturing capabilities. Founded in 1973, the state-owned enterprise manufactures a wide range of textile products and achieved an export value of $140 million in 2020.
Zhenxing highlighted Bangladesh’s low labor costs as a competitive advantage and expressed interest in improving local business capacities through knowledge transfer. Earlier, a delegation led by Jiangsu SOHO Holdings’ chairman visited Dhaka to discuss potential collaborations with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association.
