Dhaka International Trade Fair concludes with about $36 million in sales

The 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2026 will begin on January 1 and run for a month at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal, bringing together local and international exhibitors under one roof.

The fair will be inaugurated by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus and is jointly organised by the Ministry of Commerce and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the details at a press briefing held at the venue.

A total of 324 pavilions, stalls and restaurants have been allocated transparently to domestic producer-exporters, general business entities and foreign companies. Exhibits will feature a wide range of products, including textiles, machinery, electronics, furniture, cosmetics, jute goods, carpets, household items, and leather and footwear products.

This year’s fair will enforce a ban on polythene bags and single-use plastics, with eco-friendly shopping bags to be made available at subsidised prices through the Ministry of Textiles and Jute.

Alongside Bangladesh, 11 companies from six countries—India, Turkey, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Malaysia—are participating in the event. Entry tickets will be priced at Tk 50.

To ease access to the venue, around 200 buses will operate throughout the fair, while ride-sharing services will offer special discounted fares for visitors. Organisers said the reduced number of stalls compared to last year aims to improve visitor movement, comfort and overall organisation, while higher bidding prices are expected to boost EPB revenue.

The Dhaka International Trade Fair has been held since 1995 to promote local products, support industrial growth and create employment opportunities.
