Japanese textiles giant to back US hemp producer

Sustainable hemp producer FyberX has announced that Japananese textile dealer Toyoshima & Co is the lead investor in its latest funding round.

FyberX is a platform for the development of natural fiber products and technologies that aims to mass-produce hemp from US farms using sustainable farming methods.

“We consider an investment by a top textile supply chain leader to be a wonderful honor and reinforcement that our vision and technology connect with market needs,” said Ben Young, founder and CEO of the company.

Kazuhisa Mizoguchi, director and chief operating officer of Toyoshima, continued, “Our objective is to provide ecologically friendly products to customers.

“Our investment arm’s mission is to identify technologies, regenerative resources, and like-minded businesses to fulfill this important mission. We look forward to a productive relationship with Ben and his team and are eager to help scale US-grown hemp.”

Toyoshima and FyberX say they are both committed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) as well as their own internal ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) goals.

FyberX aims to deliver regenerative hemp fiber using a bio-regional approach that benefits farmers, repairs soil health and rebuilds rural communities.

The US company says it will continue seeking to establish partnerships to expand its platform and to scale eco-friendly natural fibres, such as hemp, which are easily integrated into existing production processes.
