LYCRA to showcase ‘EcoMade’ bio-derived product at Kingpins, Amsterdam

The LYCRA Company will preview its bio-derived LYCRA® EcoMade fiber at Kingpins Amsterdam on April 16–17, 2025. The innovative elastane, made with 70% renewable content sourced from Iowa corn, aims to reduce the carbon footprint of LYCRA fiber by up to 44% while maintaining equivalent performance. It requires no changes to existing fabric or garment production processes.

VR experience at the event to showcase the fiber’s journey from farm to fiber. “7 Styles for 7 Days” denim collection demonstrates the versatility of the fiber in everyday wear. Collaborators include Diamond Denim (Sapphire Group, Pakistan) and ORTA (Turkey), who are also promoting regenerative cotton. Citizens of Humanity’s AGOLDE brand is using the sustainable fiber in upcoming collections.

LYCRA FitSense® technology—enabling targeted shaping and custom fits—is also being reintroduced, with recent commercial success by SPANX. The LYCRA Co. continues its partnership with the House of Denim Foundation and Jean School students to display future-forward denim designs under the exhibit “Stretch Yourself #4.”

The company emphasizes sustainability, innovation, and performance in shaping the future of denim and apparel.
