NBR can now fix all its errors and issues: EX-NBR Chairman

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) is set to draft a new ICD policy following the reported disagreements amongst the stakeholders over two existing policies pertaining to the private off-docks or Inland Container Depot (ICD) in the country.

According to the media reports, shipping agents prefer the policy framed by the Ministry of Shipping in 2016, while private off-dock operators find the one framed by the NBR in 2021, favorable even if apparel exporters, reportedly, maintained customs-related procedures should be determined by the NBR, while the shipping ministry should issue guidelines related to the port operations.

Following the disagreements, the NBR recently moved to frame a new policy for setting up and operating of private ICDs or off-docks.
