Sustainability Summit 2026 – OEKO-TEX® | Hohenstein

Hohenstein Bangladesh successfully hosted the Sustainability Summit 2026 on 17 May 2026 at Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View, bringing together textile experts, industry leaders, policymakers, and manufacturers to discuss the future of sustainable textile production.
Led by Mohammad Kamruzzaman, Regional Chief – Southeast Asia, the seminar featured distinguished panel guests including Mr. Mahabub Alam, Chief Operating Officer of Pahartoli Textiles Limited; Mr. Markus Tiemann, Director Sales Europe & Asia; Mr. Anwarul Islam, Group GM – HR, Admin & Sustainability at Pacific Jeans Ltd.; and Mr. Pieter Smetsers, Country Head of HVEG Fashion Group.
The summit also featured a series of insightful technical presentations focused on the future of sustainable textiles and regulatory compliance. The first session, “PFAS – Review, Current Developments & Outlook,” was presented by Ms. Johny Yasmin Kanta, Sr. General Manager, Hohenstein Laboratories Bangladesh Limited, highlighting emerging regulations, risks, and industry expectations surrounding PFAS substances.
The second presentation, “Building Sustainable Textiles: The Role of STANDARD 100, Organic & Recycled Certifications,” was delivered by Tanjiul Hoque Tanvi, Sr. Manager – OEKO-TEX®, focusing on how certifications support safer, more sustainable, and transparent textile production.
The third presentation, “OEKO-TEX® STeP & MADE IN GREEN: Preparing You for DPP & a Transparent Future,” was presented by Ms. Amina Siddiqua, Assistant Manager – Sustainability Team at STeP by OEKO-TEX®, emphasizing digital product passports, traceability, and the importance of transparent supply chains for the future textile industry.
The discussions throughout the event focused on global sustainability standards, RSL management, product safety, process control, and the growing importance of OEKO-TEX® services in today’s textile industry.
The event highlighted Chattogram’s vital role in advancing responsible manufacturing and promoting a more transparent and sustainable textile supply chain in Bangladesh.
