Value added Cotton processing to be promoted by Maharashtra of India

A major cotton producing state of India, Maharastra is focusing to expand cotton processing capacity. This initiatives are taken to maximize benefits from value addition across the textile value chain. Newly implied policy would likely to attract new investment about 25,000 crore INR. Maharastra have already build up a few significant textile hub in the country.

This new approved policy will be in effect from 2023 to 2028 and its objective is to create 500,000 jobs in this sector within this time period.

Additionally, the policy intend to establish Maharstra State Textile Development Corporation (MSTDC), a fully dedicated body for backing schemes for textile sector. The plan includes setting up six textile parks across the state.
